Stella's analogy with Hans Haacke artwork by Geoffroy Gillant

GGillant - STELLA 1 copy.jpg

I've stumbled across this image of Hans Haacke's artwork "Sphere in Oblique Air Jet" from 1964 in an art book and was surprised by the similitude with Stella's image.

Haacke's art installation was made of a balloon revolving in a jet stream (the machine on the ground) as if suspended by an invisible thread.

Stella is made of a hanging marble disk lit up by a light source on the ground, as a reference to the Moon lit up by a dormant Sun.
